Old Mountain Farm Selene

Photos by: Cheryle Moore-Smith & Wyl Smith

“Selene” freshened for the first time with an udder that was promising and she was very productive for a first freshener. She is one of the most elegant does to be born here. Selene was always a bit reserved but really came out of her shell and took to being a “Dairy Goat” exhibiting perfect milk stand manners. She has the same dam as the 2017 ADGA National Champion Senior Doe & 2017 ADGA National Best Udder Doe (CH Old Mountain Farm Merriment) as well as our doe Old Mountain Farm Fat Tuesday. After Selene had freshened here for a second time she really started taking up a lot of space in my head! She is SO Elegant, SO Dairy, SO beautiful, SO lovely to milk, has SUCH big teat orifices, SUCH amazing skin, SUCH an incredibly collapsible udder, SO much fun to watch on the move, SUCH a good milk producer but her udder attachments were not quite strong enough to merit her staying in my herd. So, I decided to sell Selene in the fall of 2020 (and boy did that hurt) I hope I don’t learn to regret my decision as I see her mature in another herd although I am very pleased with her new 2Leg.
